Potiche
Potiche, the celebrated comedy by Barillet and Grédy, arrives at the Théâtre Princesse Grace in Monaco with a sharp, energetic production directed by Charles Templon. Set in the apparently orderly town of Sainte-Gudule, the play follows Suzanne Pujol, a devoted wife who is suddenly pushed into running the family umbrella factory after her authoritarian husband falls ill.
What begins as a domestic emergency quickly becomes a witty reversal of roles. Suzanne, long underestimated by those around her, proves to be an unexpectedly capable and charismatic leader. The comedy uses this transformation to explore power, appearances, gender expectations and the hidden resources people discover when circumstances force them to step forward.
The cast includes Clémentine Célarié, Paloma, Jérôme Pouly, Benjamin Siksou, Philippe Uchan and Alexie Ribes. Presented as part of the Théâtre Princesse Grace 2026–2027 season, the performance runs for approximately two hours without an interval.
