Mural Painting Workshop – Ages 6–9
Children aged 6 to 9 are invited to discover the traditional technique of mural painting during a creative heritage workshop at the Mémoire des lieux exhibition on 28 October 2026.
From historic frescoes to a collective creation
The session begins with an introduction to the fresco technique, used since Antiquity and developed extensively during the Renaissance. Participants learn how a traditional wall painting is prepared, from the application of lime-based plaster to painting with pigments while the surface is still fresh.
After observing these different stages, the children move into a hands-on activity and create their own collective mural using acrylic paint. The workshop combines art history, practical experimentation and teamwork in a format designed specifically for younger participants.
Good to know
The workshop takes place on Wednesday 28 October 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. It is intended for children aged 6 to 9. Participation is free, subject to available places, and the event is listed as accessible to people with reduced mobility.
