Totemic Monotype – Children Workshop
Totemic Monotype is a four-day creative workshop for children aged 7 to 11 at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma, running from 26 to 29 October 2026 during the All Saints’ school holiday.
Discovering monotype through Victor Brauner
Inspired by the exhibition dedicated to Victor Brauner, the workshop introduces children to monotype, a printmaking process based on transferring ink onto paper. Participants will look at archival material connected with Brauner, including invitation cards and exhibition layouts, before experimenting with their own visual compositions.
The programme encourages children to combine observation, imagination and hands-on making. Over four afternoons, they will develop an illustrated booklet for an imaginary exhibition, drawing inspiration from Brauner’s practice and from non-Western art referenced in the exhibition.
Workshop programme
The workshop runs as one continuous four-day programme from Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October 2026. Each session takes place from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The activity is designed for children aged 7 to 11.
