La Traversée – Animated Film Screening with Florence Miailhe
The Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco presents a special screening of Florence Miailhe’s acclaimed animated feature on 1 December 2026 at Théâtre des Variétés. The filmmaker will be present for a programme exploring a visually distinctive story of migration, resilience and growing up.
An animated journey
Kyona and Adriel are two children who must flee after their village is destroyed. Their long journey towards a safer place takes them through friendships, separation and a shifting landscape of real and fantastical dangers. Miailhe’s distinctive hand-painted animation gives the narrative an emotional, painterly quality.
Good to know
The event begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday 1 December 2026. The 84-minute film is presented in the presence of director Florence Miailhe, with Jean-Paul Commin and Jacques Kermabon hosting the evening.
