MonacoPhil 2026 – Sub-Saharan African Stamps and Postal History

MonacoPhil dedicates a major thematic exhibition to stamps and postal documents from Sub-Saharan Africa up to the First World War. Held at One Monte-Carlo from 3 to 5 December 2026, the display presents a wide-ranging portrait of communications across the African continent through rare philatelic material.

A journey through postal history

The exhibition covers postal practices, routes and collecting traditions in different regions of Sub-Saharan Africa, tracing their evolution through the pre-war years. The selected stamps, envelopes and documents provide insight into changing networks of trade, administration and communication. Collectors can explore material rarely displayed together at this scale.

Good to know

According to the official provisional programme, the display runs Thursday 3 December 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. It is hosted in Salle des Arts. Confirm any final changes to the exhibition and admission information on MonacoPhil’s website.
