Brûlez-la at Théâtre Princesse Grace

Brûlez-la

Brûlez-la comes to the Théâtre Princesse Grace as part of the 2026–2027 season, presenting Christian Siméon’s theatrical portrait of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald. The production revisits the life of a woman too often reduced to her marriage to F. Scott Fitzgerald, instead placing her own artistic ambitions, fierce independence and resistance to social convention at the centre of the story.

Born in Alabama in 1900 and later celebrated as an emblematic figure of the Jazz Age, Zelda became associated with the freedom and excess of the Roaring Twenties. The play looks beyond the mythology to explore the constraints she faced as a woman, an artist and a patient within the psychiatric institutions of her time. The result is a dramatic evening built around identity, creativity, recognition and the cost of refusing to conform.

The performance is presented at the Théâtre Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo. It is scheduled without an interval and runs for approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
