De Toumaï à Sapiens at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology
De Toumaï à Sapiens
De Toumaï à Sapiens is a richly illustrated, educational and interactive temporary exhibition at Monaco’s Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology. Running until 16 October 2026, the exhibition traces the origins and evolution of the human lineage, from the earliest bipeds to Homo sapiens.
About the exhibition
The exhibition follows the long story of human evolution through scientific discoveries, migration, technology and changing ways of life. It explores major milestones including the development of tools, the mastery of fire, the expansion of human populations beyond Africa and the emergence of symbolic and artistic expression.
Multimedia elements, interviews, 3D views of prehistoric objects, quizzes and interactive activities help make the scientific material accessible to a broad audience. The itinerary extends from early hominins and Toumaï through to Lascaux and even considers how the story of humanity connects with contemporary questions such as artificial intelligence.
