Monaco has one railway station: Monaco-Monte-Carlo. The underground station sits on the coastal TER ZOU! line linking Ventimiglia, Menton, Monaco, Nice, Cannes and Grasse.
The station has six entrances at different levels and in different districts. Choosing the correct exit can save considerable walking time in Monaco’s steep urban landscape. The Principality’s only railway station. It is fully underground and centrally positioned between Monte-Carlo, La Condamine, Les Moneghetti, Fontvieille and the Rock.
Pont Sainte Dévote, 98000 Monaco
This is the principal station address. Do not use it as the only guide to your exit: the station’s six entrances open onto different streets and levels.
TER ZOU! coastal line
Direct regional services operate east toward Menton and Ventimiglia, and west toward Nice, Antibes, Cannes and selected services to Grasse.

Main direct train routes from Monaco
The times below are typical direct TER journey times based on the current published timetable. They are planning estimates, not guaranteed schedules.
Westbound toward Nice and Cannes
Trains generally continue along the French Riviera coastal line.

Direct TER services cross the French-Italian border at Ventimiglia.

Not every train serves every intermediate stop. Some westbound services terminate at Nice or Cannes, while others continue to Grasse or farther along the regional network. Check the destination displayed on the train and station board.
The six entrances to Monaco Train Station
The station extends through the hillside. Follow the exit signs inside the station according to your final destination rather than automatically using the main entrance.
Monte-Carlo
Pont Sainte Dévote, at the lower end of Boulevard Princesse Charlotte. For step-free access, use the station car park lifts on Avenue d’Alsace, a short distance behind the principal entrance.
Parvis Sainte-Dévote
Station forecourt in the Sainte-Dévote valley, reached by stairs behind Sainte-Dévote Church. This entrance is not suitable for step-free access.
Port Hercule
Underground corridor at the lower end of Rue Grimaldi, to the left of Sainte-Dévote Church. The route uses escalators and does not have lifts.
Jardin Exotique / Hospital
At the junction of Boulevard de Belgique and Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. The route uses escalators and is not step-free.
La Condamine
Access from Allée Lazare Sauvaigo, or from Rue Grimaldi and Rue Suffren-Reymond using the stairs or lifts near the post office.
Fontvieille / Le Rocher
Access from Avenue Prince Pierre and Allée Lazare Sauvaigo, to the right of the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier.
Which station exit should you use?
Travelling between Monaco and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport
Nice Saint-Augustin
Take a westbound TER from Monaco-Monte-Carlo to Nice Saint-Augustin. The direct train journey is typically around 31 to 35 minutes.
Walkway and free airport tram
Nice Airport states that Terminal 1 is around a seven-minute walk from the station via a dedicated pedestrian route. Tram lines 2 and B provide a free connection between Grand Arénas, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Allow additional time for the walk, tram connection, luggage and airport formalities. Check that the selected TER stops at Nice Saint-Augustin before boarding.
Tickets, ticket machines and boarding
Where to buy tickets
Tickets can be purchased through SNCF Connect, the ZOU! sales channels, the staffed ticket office or station ticket machines. Buy the correct ticket before boarding and follow any validation instructions shown.
Check the train destination
Monaco is served by trains with different final destinations. Verify the departure board, platform and stopping pattern, especially when travelling to Nice Saint-Augustin, Cannes, Grasse or Ventimiglia.
Cross-border journeys
Direct TER services reach Ventimiglia. For Sanremo, Genoa, Milan and other Italian destinations, a connection at Ventimiglia is normally required.
Return and onward journeys
Check the return timetable before leaving Monaco, particularly at night, on Sundays, during engineering work and on major event dates.
Local connections from the station
Bus stops are located inside or close to the station at Belgique (Gare), Place Sainte-Dévote and Pont Sainte-Dévote. The correct stop depends on the station exit and direction of travel.
Monaco urban buses
Several CAM routes serve the station area and connect with Monaco-Ville, Fontvieille, Larvotto, Jardin Exotique, the hospital and other districts. Check the current stop and direction before boarding.
Regional buses
Nearby stops also serve routes toward Nice, Menton, Èze, La Turbie and Nice Airport. Regional bus numbers and stopping arrangements may change.
Station car park
The official station car park is open 24 hours for cars and motorbikes. The upper entrance is at Pont Sainte Dévote and the lower entrance is at Bretelle Aurélia. The first hour is currently free.
Walking and public lifts
Monaco’s public lifts and pedestrian passages are useful after leaving the station, but street level matters. Confirm the correct station exit first.

Assistance service
SNCF provides free station assistance for passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility. Official guidance asks passengers to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

The coastal railway can be affected by planned works, industrial action, weather, incidents and event-day crowd management. Grand Prix periods and other major events can also alter pedestrian access around Sainte-Dévote.
