Voyages en Italie – Sophie Letourneur
On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco presents Voyages en Italie by Sophie Letourneur at the Théâtre des Variétés. The screening begins at 7:00 PM and forms part of the “Cinéma, art vivant” programme developed in partnership with the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco.
Why This Event Matters
This evening offers a focused look at the work of French filmmaker Sophie Letourneur, combining a feature film with an earlier short and placing both within Monaco’s cultural cinema programme.
Programme
The evening opens with a short introduction followed by Letourneur’s 2004 short film La Tête dans le vide, before the screening of Voyages en Italie (2022). The feature follows a couple attempting to reconnect during a trip to Sicily, using everyday conversation and awkward intimacy as the basis for a distinctive comedy of relationships.
