The Wedding of the Century
The Wedding of the Century revisits one of the defining moments in Monaco’s modern history: the 1956 marriage of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly. Presented at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, the exhibition brings together photographs, moving images, jewellery, dresses, gifts and previously unseen archival material to explore the personalities, places and key moments behind a week of celebrations that transformed the Principality’s international image. The exhibition also examines the extraordinary media attention surrounding the royal wedding and the enduring cultural memory it created.
About the venue
The Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the historic residence of the Sovereign Prince, overlooking the Principality from Monaco-Ville. Its State Apartments, ceremonial spaces and long association with the Grimaldi dynasty make it one of Monaco’s most important heritage landmarks.
