Saint-Jean Celebrations 2027
Monaco’s traditional Saint-Jean celebrations take place each year on 23 and 24 June, bringing together religious observance, folk culture and the symbolic lighting of the batafoegu, the traditional bonfire associated with this feast of fire and light.
The first evening is centred on the Prince’s Palace area, where the programme traditionally includes a religious ceremony followed by the lighting of the bonfire and folkloric dancing. The following evening moves to the Place des Moulins and the Saint-Charles district, with a traditional procession, church service, music, singing and further folk performances. Groups such as La Palladienne de Monaco and U Cantin d’A Roca regularly contribute to the celebrations.
The Mairie de Monaco identifies 23 and 24 June as the fixed dates for this annual tradition. Exact 2027 timings and any access arrangements may be announced closer to the event. Attendance to the public festivities is free.
