Mural painting workshop for ages 10 to 14 in Monaco on 28 October 2026

Mural Painting Workshops for Children — Mémoire des lieux, 23 December 2026

A hands-on art afternoon during the Christmas holiday period

Families spending the run-up to Christmas in Monaco can discover the art of mural painting through two age-specific creative sessions held on Wednesday 23 December 2026 at the Salle d’Exposition du quai Antoine Ier. Part of the youth activities accompanying the Mémoire des lieux heritage exhibition, the workshops introduce children to the methods and cultural history of fresco painting before inviting them to contribute to a collaborative artwork. The two sessions are coordinated within the same afternoon and are presented here as one event rather than separate duplicated listings.

Discover the technique of mural painting

The programme is led by artist and painter Valentine Trassy. Participants learn how historical frescoes were produced, from preparing a plaster surface to applying pigments. The artist introduces the relationship between traditional techniques and the development of wall painting through the centuries, before participants explore a practical group painting activity using contemporary acrylic materials. The exhibition provides additional context, examining the way architecture, art and collective memory help define Monaco’s changing urban landscape.

About the venue

The exhibition hall at quai Antoine Ier occupies a cultural setting beside Monaco’s historic harbour. The space hosts public exhibitions and cultural activities, and its Mémoire des lieux programme explores the Principality’s architectural and artistic heritage through photographs, installations, artworks and creative participation.

Plan your visit

Choose the session corresponding to the child’s age and register in advance; places are limited. The 30-minute interval between the two sessions is not part of either workshop. The announced programme is a family art activity during the holiday week, not a Christmas-themed performance. Ask the cultural service about adult-accompaniment requirements, accessibility or any materials to bring when registering. The official programme lists the two distinct December 23 sessions, not workshops on every day between October and December.
