Mao Fujita & the Musicians of the OPMC
Mao Fujita joins musicians of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo for an evening of chamber music at the Auditorium Rainier III. The programme forms part of the OPMC’s 2026–2027 Grande Saison and highlights a more intimate side of the orchestra’s artistic life, bringing solo piano and ensemble playing into close dialogue.
The concert features music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. Across these contrasting works, the programme moves between Classical balance, late-Romantic intensity and richly coloured chamber textures, offering audiences the opportunity to experience repertoire that reveals the expressive detail and close musical communication at the heart of chamber performance.
Fujita, one of the featured artists of the OPMC season, is known for his crystalline technique, spontaneity and lyrical phrasing. In this concert he performs alongside OPMC musicians in a setting designed to foreground interaction, nuance and the individual character of each instrumental voice.
