Magical Creatures – NMNM Family Drawing Workshop, 5 December 2026
On Saturday 5 December 2026, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco invites families to Villa Paloma for its recurring Saturday afternoon creative workshop. Starting at 3:00 PM, the session offers children and accompanying adults a shared introduction to imaginative art-making while the museum’s Victor Brauner exhibition is on view.
The experience
The workshop draws on the Surrealist technique of the exquisite corpse, in which different imagined elements combine into surprising and hybrid characters. Participants explore unusual forms, unexpected combinations and playful drawing methods, reflecting themes of metamorphosis and invention associated with Surrealism. The format emphasises shared creative time between generations rather than a formal lecture or a guided tour. Materials and individual activities may vary, and participants should follow the instructions provided by the museum team on arrival.
Good to know
The museum confirms family workshops every Saturday at 15:00 during exhibitions. At least one adult must accompany participating children; the NMNM website normally recommends ages 7–12. Places are limited and booking is required through mediation@nmnm.mc. The workshop itself is free after payment of any applicable museum admission; visitors should consult current admission exemptions rather than assume every adult enters free. The precise finishing time is not supplied by the organiser.
