Les Visiteurs du Soir – Francis Bacon | Peter Beard: Figures à vif Guided Visit
As part of the autumn 2026 edition of Les Visiteurs du Soir, the Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation hosts a guided visit of Francis Bacon | Peter Beard: Figures à vif, an exhibition exploring the intense friendship and creative dialogue between the British painter Francis Bacon and the American photographer Peter Beard.
What to expect
The visit introduces the relationship between the two artists through paintings, photographs, prints, correspondence and working documents drawn from the MB Art Collection. The exhibition also examines the subjects and interests they shared, including a fascination with African wildlife and the ways in which each became both a source of inspiration and a subject for the other.
The guided format offers additional context on the works and archival material, helping visitors understand how the friendship developed over more than two decades and how it influenced their respective artistic practices.
