D. Bismuth & the Musicians of the OPMC
Pianist David Bismuth joins musicians of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo for a chamber-music programme devoted entirely to Ludwig van Beethoven. Presented within the OPMC 2026–2027 Grande Saison, the concert brings together piano, violin, viola and cello in a more intimate format than the orchestra’s large symphonic evenings, giving listeners the chance to focus closely on the interplay between the individual instruments.
The programme includes Beethoven’s Piano Quartet No. 1 in E-flat major, WoO 36 No. 1, the Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor, “The Tempest”, Op. 31 No. 2, and Piano Quartet No. 3 in C major, WoO 36 No. 3. The performance is scheduled for Sunday 17 January 2027 at 18:00 at Auditorium Rainier III, with an approximate duration of 1 hour 40 minutes including interval. It is an appealing choice for visitors who want to experience Monaco’s classical-music season in a chamber setting, while regular concertgoers can hear both a celebrated Beethoven sonata and rarely programmed early piano quartets in the same evening.
