International Circus Festival – Competition Show, 1st Program
The 49th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo opens its competitive programme with the first official competition show under the Chapiteau de Fontvieille. This performance brings together a selection of international circus artists competing before the festival jury, with disciplines ranging from acrobatics and aerial performance to equestrian acts, juggling, comedy and large-scale arena presentations. The evening forms part of one of Monaco’s most established annual cultural traditions and is presented within the 2027 edition of the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo and New Generation.
The competition format gives audiences the opportunity to see acts presented in a formal festival setting, where technical difficulty, originality, presentation and artistic impact all contribute to the jury’s assessment. For visitors, the show combines the atmosphere of a major international competition with the spectacle of a traditional big-top production, making it one of the headline family-entertainment events of January in the Principality.
This first-program competition show takes place on Friday 22 January 2027 at 20:00 at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille. Visitors should consult the official Monte-Carlo Festival website for current ticket availability, seating categories, access information and any final programme updates before attending.
