European Heritage Days – Médiathèque Caroline Heritage Collections
For Monaco’s European Heritage Days, the heritage collections of Médiathèque Caroline open their conservation areas to the public for guided visits focused on the preservation and restoration of historic documents. The programme offers a rare look behind the scenes at the work required to protect fragile cultural material for future generations.
Each guided visit lasts around 1 hour 45 minutes and combines access to conservation storage with a demonstration of document restoration. The Saturday programme begins in the Hélios building and continues with a restoration demonstration in the auditorium of Médiathèque Caroline. On Sunday, the conservation stores visited are located at A casa d’i soci, followed by another restoration demonstration.
