Musical Happy Hour – Chamber Music
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo presents a new Musical Happy Hour devoted to chamber music at the Auditorium Rainier III on 9 February 2027. Designed as a more intimate encounter with the orchestra’s musicians, the series offers audiences the chance to hear a wide-ranging programme in a focused concert format that places individual instrumental colours and ensemble interaction at the centre of the evening.
The programme spans several centuries and styles, bringing together works by Francesco Geminiani, Benjamin Britten, John Playford, James Oswald Skinner, John Dowland, François Couperin, Manuel de Falla, Nicola Matteis, Sjölin, Claudio Monteverdi and Dieterich Buxtehude. Rather than following a single stylistic thread, the concert moves between Baroque, folk-inspired, early-music and twentieth-century sound worlds, creating a varied sequence of short-form pieces and contrasting textures.
Part of the OPMC’s 2026–2027 season, the Musical Happy Hour series is conceived as an accessible way to discover chamber repertoire and the individual musicians of the orchestra beyond the large symphonic stage. The concert begins at 18:30 at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monaco.
