SUMMARY:La Pietà by Michelangelo – Conference and Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Michelangelo’s Pietà is the focus of a reflective evening organised by the Diocese of Monaco’s formation service. Led by Abbé Joseph Di Leo, the conference and meditation invite participants to consider the famous sculpture not only as a major artistic achievement but also through the themes of faith, love and hope associated with its subject.\n🏛️ What to expect\nThe session takes the form of a conference and meditation, combining attention to a celebrated work of Renaissance sculpture with a spiritual perspective. The announced subject is the meaning and contemporary resonance of the Virgin Mary holding the body of Christ.\nAbbé Joseph Di Leo is the confirmed speaker. The programme is an opportunity for those interested in religious art, Christian reflection or Michelangelo’s sculptural work to approach the same masterpiece from different viewpoints.\n📅 Event details\nThe talk is presented by the formation service of the Diocese of Monaco. Its stated approach is to use the Pietà as a testimony to faith, love and hope and to reflect on how that message speaks to the present day.\n✨ Good to know\nThe diocesan announcement confirms the speaker and session duration, but does not state an admission fee. Contact the Diocese for any participation requirements or additional practical information.\nThe event is a conference and meditation, not a museum exhibition or an opportunity to view the original sculpture.\n📍 About the venue\nAgora, the diocesan house in Monaco, provides a meeting setting for activities connected with the local Catholic community. It is a venue for educational encounters, discussion and spiritual formation.\n
