SUMMARY:Invent Your Own Magic Lantern Show
DESCRIPTION:\nChildren aged 8 and over can step into the world of early moving-image entertainment during a two-morning creative workshop at the Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco on 22 and 23 October 2026.\nCreate a show inspired by the magic lantern\nParticipants discover how the magic lantern transformed painted images into projected stories long before cinema, then use that inspiration to imagine and build their own visual sequence. The workshop combines observation, drawing, storytelling and hands-on experimentation.\nAcross the two sessions, children develop a small original show while learning how images, light and narration can work together to create an illusion of movement and atmosphere.\nGood to know\nThe workshop runs on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October 2026 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM each day. It is intended for children aged 8 and over. The announced price is €35, and the venue is listed as accessible to people with reduced mobility.\nAbout the venue\nThe Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco preserves and shares the Principality’s audiovisual heritage through screenings, exhibitions, educational activities and workshops devoted to cinema and the history of images.\n\n
