SUMMARY:Roméo et Juliette by Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo
DESCRIPTION:\nLes Ballets de Monte-Carlo return to the Opéra Garnier on 1 November 2026 with Jean-Christophe Maillot’s celebrated interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy, marking thirty years since the ballet was created in Monte-Carlo.\nA signature work by Jean-Christophe Maillot\nRather than simply retelling the conflict between the Capulets and Montagues, Maillot frames the story through Friar Laurence and the consequences of his attempt to help the young lovers. Sergei Prokofiev’s score accompanies choreography that has become one of the company’s defining works and has been presented on major international stages.\nGood to know\nThe performance begins at 3:00 PM and is scheduled to finish at approximately 5:30 PM. Published Monaco event information confirms access for people with reduced mobility.\nAbout the venue\nThe Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo is the historic Belle Époque theatre on Place du Casino, renowned for ballet, opera, classical music and major cultural performances in the heart of Monte-Carlo.\n\n
